    what about all those sprouting seeds,like mung beans? All you need is an empty jar,a rubber band and a bit of j cloth ,so easy,so tasty,so quick ! just put some seeds in the jar,and swill them out with water through the j cloth twice a day. Read more..

    How about you go for a walk about with the group,identify and collect some acorns or other tree seeds..you can put a few in a pot,then the kids will have a tree to plant out next autumn....? I sowed some last year,about now,they grew before christmas,and still have leaves on now..! Read more..

    I have two pots of them...both have to over winter in my protected but unheated greenhouse.One was on the sunnier side this winter..the other had to be more in the shade.The sunnier side flowered,but the shady did not..they came out of greenhouse together and sit on the same patio area....so perhaps we should move somewhere warmer!!!!!     Thanks Alex...and Eden.dont know if I am feeling nervous or excited about this..(.I too am over 50 but still fit and fairly strong..).!What was the first garden you did like..was it for someone you knew,or not ?     I dont know if I am crazy but,I have decided to start my own little gardening part-time buisness !I have worked in parks,incuding the botanical gardens in b'ham,and on farm estates,and for the past 25 years in our big garden at home.I cant get enough ! Has anyone else taken the plunge? I am really excited,and only wish I had the nerve to do this years ago....I am only going to do the things I feel confident at and be honest and say I cant do some jobs...like high pruning and tree stuff.I feel Read more..

    Since my garden is fairly well put to bed for the winter,I am daft enough to consider gardening for other people,as I love it !What sort of things would you like help with....I am not into tree felling or laying patios,but I am not afraid of work,so bring it on....are there any local charites in need of a hand,or,despite the credit crunch does anyone think part time help/work is still wanted.....30 years of experience.....lots of energy.....raing to go...!(worcsesterhire based )any suggestions gratefully Read more..

    How could this be so ?I love my large garden,but theres nothing left to do ! Even the greenhouse is so ready for spring and so am I !Should I follow the sun and go gardening abroad?Our soil is heavy clay..to walk on the garden means ruts a barrow out of the question so to feed the birds is fun but whats left ?
