    Late winter/early spring frosts seem to be the answer.     Victoria Plums trees are self pollinating, Sue.Mine planted a year ago produced a useful crop this year. Can't vouch whether tis dog stomach proof.Wouldn't this happen whatever fruit. Read more..

    So so agree, Schol....highest air fares should be the order of the day. It's down to the individual, companies will still want to make money, whether it is from making and using polluting chemicals or making and using non polluting Wind Turbines and wave energy.     Yes, I thought a tennis ball, tho the screwed up plastic bag I use at present seems to work ok. Also the apples I am presently picking are small enough to drop into the bottle, and a notch cut out at the end helps to gather the fruit. Have been out and cut an even longer stick and shall experiment with a bag system.Perhaps a long bit of wire, thread on some cloth, bend the wire round, sew up the bag, and place the wire into/ onto the stick and fasten somehow.
