    Indeed to goodness it would de a very terrible thing if Carol was to leave at such an early stage of her professional career. However being a proud Scot through and through I would love to see some one extra pretty such a Hazel Irvine to guide us through all of natures challenges.     Funny thing Boggy I had my annual Charabang trip southward to RHS Wisley yesterday and noticed that one of the 25 or so Fagus Sylvestrus ? guarding the new glass house had gone ( must have snuffed it ) leaving an unsightly void so it seems this "occasional death" thing does happen in the best of circles. The whole area was mostly magnificent but the absent tree left this part looking like a beautiful female face with one tooth missing in the front.     I notice Mulberry are mentioned in this post. I have the similar observations regarding the progression of the foliage during the twilight months of the year but has anyond had any real success with the fruit. I do note that the Wisley Main tree just beyond the model fruit garden does have unappetising "things" on it around Sept.it but the Espalier, year after year, looks like itis wasting its time.
