Hmm, not managed to get any fuschia cuttings to grow either - much to my despair I've already lost one of the 2 fuschias that I really wanted to keep. It's called 'White Princess' and was developed by a cousin of mine (long since died). I mentioned this to a fuschia fancier at my previous church and he looked it up, bought one, took loads of cuttings and gave me 2 plants from the cuttings - very kind. At the time I was gardenless so passed them to M&D for safekeeping - Dad passed them to another

It's more that one of them has rheumatoid arthritis, and the other major sight issues - so gardening is difficult. (The house & garden go with the job, so it's not like it is fully their choice!) Thanks for these tips!

We have an unheated greenhouse, and veg plot - 3 meter square raised beds, matched by 3 meter square patches - a strip approx 1m by 2.5m and a smaller strip c.80cm by 2m Last year the peas were fab, green beans prolific. Rocket all came out at once (despite attempting successional sowing) and completely took over. Carrots were poor, as were parsnips. Just finished the potatoes. Onion have been in 2 of the raised beds over winter. I'm really keen to sow more peas and green beans (am happy to leave

Hi Figwort thanks for your 2 replies. I'll just have to get more organised! Do they grow easily from cuttings? I presume that means you have to get them through the winter first? (not my strong point, obviously:) )

Hi, I bought 2 plants of this last year from the Eden Project (it's a conservation fundraiser) and they were beautiful. I left them in the trough over winter, cutting them back to the base when they went black (frost/cold I guess?) and then (belatedly!) shoved them in the unheated greenhouse, and didn't water. Any chance they will re-grow? I understand that impatiens are probably annuals in the UK climate. If I had been able to bring them indoors, could they have survived?

whoops - I pruned my C. montana last weekend! it was showing a few green signs, so I just hoped that it would pick up again. My only fear is, have I killed it? I'm just not an organised gardener. We've pruned the older, established Clem. at random intervals in the last 4years and it always survives, but only got the C.montana (freebie from RHS!) after Chelsea '06, and I'm pretty certain that I didn't touch in in '07.
