Yes, used to annoy me too Susiq, when my Mum was alive and in a wheelchair. Mind you, talking of rants, I'll never forget the very irate chap at our local Tesco store who came up to me shouting and snarling after I parked in a disabled space and got out of the car - he was really abusive of the subject of able-bodied people taking disabled spaces, till I opened the car boot, took out Mum's wheelchair, and opened the passenger door to help her out the car and into the wheelchair...

Hallo there Digger, I hope you'll get to read this on holiday, I'm all excited because the clematis seeds you sent me have finally arrived, and without being all bashed! They've taken ages to come, but Turkey can be like that (for some reason stuff you want takes forever, but stuff you don't want comes quickly, the only letter I ever got that took 2 days to arrive here was from HM Inland Revenue....) Anyway Digger, thank you very, very much indeed, now I have to plant them up and

Hi there Susiq, yes we've got olive trees in the garden - they started producing olives from about their second or third year, though admittedly not many then because the trees were so small. Once they reached about 5 years old we started to get enough olives to be worth doing; how you prepare them depends on whether you want green olives or black olives?

Free country, Boggy - you're quite welcome to buy up all the golf-ball tomatoes and the turnipy strawberries and the tasteless hard bananas if you like! You could even start a "Friends of Monsanto", to reward them for working so hard purely out of the goodness of their stony money-grubbing little corporate hearts just to help us, and certainly not just to make vast profits with no thought or concern for the consequences for tomorrow's environment. I expect its shareholders would

I've never voted either, but by time "The Garden" issue with the voting papers in it reaches Turkey, the AGM will probably be long past!! I must confess that I don't send in voting papers for other charities of which I'm a member either, like the RSPB & the RSPCA. How can you vote for people you've never met, and about whom you know nothing? Ok, we do it in political elections, but there at least you know the party manifestos, for what they're worth, with individuals

If Lancashire's anything like Scotland, then you'll probably find that the oriental poppy opening doesn't bring summer, but huge downpours of sluicing rain, which reduces them all to small red soggy kleenexes....
