Dear Ed We only set the charity up last year when I opened my garden for the NGS and I do not know how to post a link from google maps. The event is in East Orchard and other neighbouring villages around the B3091 between Shaftesbury an Sturminster. We are selling tickets for the event in the lay-by ouside/ between The Old School and Old Vicarage, East Orchard and will be giving out maps to the other gardens on the day we are opening.

I am intending to add an outdoor living room to my garden once my garden room has finished being built similar to the one I saw at Hamton Court this year which had a pool around it with stepping stones across to the in my case a patio. Does anyone know if I should line the pond than build in the stepping stones using blocks, mortar etc before filling with water or dig the hole, put in the plinth to support the stepping stone then take the liner around it.

I think I would dead head some of them and leave some because you might get some lovely fluffy seed heads on the ones you leave and more flowers on the ones you deadhead but I would also check online for the variety you have.

I have built ponds before but never with stepping stones. I understand exactly what you have told me. Thank you very much geoff51 for your quick response and I will try to find a book on it as well.
