Last year we moved to our new house in Holland and within 6 weeks we discovered this wonderful plant in the front garden. The previous owners had been cultivating it and not understood it was the dreaded Japanese Knotweed!! We did our best to get rid of it as you do in these circumstances and were successful to a point. Then we realised that although our efforts were good, the lady next door didnt think so. She suddenly developed a new plant sprouting up all over her garden!!! The little BBB....

Isnt there anything at all in your course materials which relates to physiological disorder? I have done three Open University courses and you can usually find the information is somewhere within the course materials. The problem is we students tend to skip over some otherwise important aspects of a course and miss the points we are expected to answer. Suddenly its all there in front of you, questions are not usually targeted at something which is not entirely in the course. I congratulate you for

I was given a plant last year in England which I believe you can put outside in summer. It was only 6 inches tall when I got it. I think its a succulent, its about 4 foot tall now and grows plantlets on the end of its leaves. The leaves are quite thin stick like, and I am told by the person who gave it to me that it will flower at some point. I tried to find it in the RHS plant book, but the search was endless! Does anyone know the name of this plant and how Im supposed to look after it to encourage

Dont panic and if you need some new ones let me know Ill try and suggest some varieties which won't keep you waiting so long. None of the bulbs are showing yet in Holland. Come over to Holland see them for

I live in Holland and because I live only 4Km from the North Sea I decided to extend the beach theme to my garden. Its already planned out, 7.5 metres wide by 4.5 metres depth in front of the veranda of my summer house.( SH is 5 metres of the 7.5 m plan) I shall put stones and pebbles in front of the summer house and have a nautical theme with roped posts to enclose the area. Can anyone suggest some plants for

Your Amaryllis would probably be nurtured in Holland before being sold on the general market. I live in Holland and most of the bulbs are grown from the Dutch flower industry. The RHS Plant finder may be able to help you further.

Could this be an Indian Bean Tree - what shape are the leaves? Check this out with a reference book. My friend has something similar in France in her new garden, maybe this is what you have too.

I live in Holland and purchased a Clivia plant 18 months ago which has flowered twice. The first time I removed the seed head and stalk and the plant flowered again the following Spring. This time the stalk looks really healthy and Im not sure whether to repeat the procedure again with such a healthy flower stalk. The seed head is still on the stalk. Should I always remove the stalk and when is the best time to do it?
