    I read most of the posts describing a garden's purpose with enthusiasm and interest. For me weeding seems to be the most constructive as unlike almost any other garden task time escapes you but you end up with the satisfaction of defying the unwanted specimens for a few minutes.     What a fascinating term 'guilty pleasure'. The trouble is it could be read so many ways. Taking the pleasure first a garden for me should be a gently tangled web of colour, texture and scent (especially the latter). The guilt I must admit stems from my own research and writing as I am continually faced with the sad fact that few of us appreciate those plants as much as we should.
