Hi, was`interested in VP's comment that membership is expensive! The Garden itself is worth £51 a year- more than the membership fee and that is before taking into account the free entry to RHS gardens and the Recommended gardens access across the UK. I think this makes it value for money.

We are actively engaged in working out how to do this. The current membership package does not allow us to ask for Gift Aid, so we are looking to protect the membership benefits but set up new arrangements which will let us move ahead with this. Entrance fees are simpler, but part of the overall aproach beong worked up.

I really sympathise with you on this! Seed propogation was for me the hardest part of starting up my last garden.Plants and cuttings are so much easier. Thing is we'd need to see the seeds to help you with this,because there isn't a rule of thumb. There are seed growing workshops available at Wisley if you can get there ?

The RHS is not just for members, it is a charity with charitable responsibilities. All charities are required to be more professional and so are we. In some areas we have been behind and we are addressing this now. Total headcount is circa 800 and we have over 1,000 volunteers.
