I planted some sweet pea seeds in late spring and 2 plants grew. Both have merrily climbed up my wall mounted trellis but never produced any blooms. The weather is still very mild (unusually so for mid october) and they are still climbing.
Do I just leave them and see what happens next year, or should I cut them back and see if new growth next year produces blooms?

Sweet peas are quite hungry plants so they may not have had enough feed. Saying that, some plants will put off flowering if they're over fed because they think that it isn't necessary.
There is some good information on growing them here: http://www.sweetpeas.org.uk/ and here: http://lathyrus.com/index.html
Personally, I'd start again with fresh seed rather than leaving them. They'll probably get killed off by the frost.
