I wouldn't go in a sidecar either, I would have visions of it not being fixed properly and both parting company, he doesn't intend to keep the bike - only to restore it and sell it and while he's doing that it keeps him out of mischiefBig Smile

Whenever we see those electric scooters, OH says he wants one when he's older and says it would have to have alloy wheels on it.

It's quite breezy here today and wet, we are supposed to be getting some really heavy rain later on too.

Wet and windy here too today, but I've got the dentist this afternoon - YUK!

I wouldn't go near a side car either! Mind you, I think some of the people driving the electric scooters are lethal!

Thats awful news about the potatoes, apparently up here some rotters have been digging up the potatoes and sticking the plant heads back in the ground, it really makes me sick! Agree with you Sue1002, best in your own garden where you can keep an eye on 'em - disgusting that it has come to that tho'Angry

i am fairly new to this wonderful art of gardening! so please excuse me if i ask daft questions. I planted some bulb lillies in pots and some have flowered and then died, is it possible to keep them for next year and if so what is the best way to keep them?

    Ever hopeful, Yvette

Yet again we are in the midst ofStorm, it's getting a bit much now, we didn't get to have a picnic in the horses field because ofStorm. So OH took me to morrissons instead and we had something to eat in the cafe. The cooler weather is probably helping my young clematis that are still in their greenhouse, but i would rather it was warm and dry.

Sorry to rub it in Digger Devil but its warm and sunny this aft - however I've missed most of it cos of the 100 mile round trip to Newcastle for the dentist! Got to have a crown fitted - rah megabucks, so got to back next week for round one, the nasty drilling partNo.

Are you gonna have your hands full Sue1002 when the schools break up? I still remember the extacsy of breaking up for six whole weeks, then within what seemed a nanosecond, boredom set in!

We didn't get all the rain we were supposed to have either, yet half an hour away up the road had a massive thunder storm, we just got fine drizzle then black skies without any rain.

That's a long way to go for the dentist Susiq, ours is only five minutes away by car and I managed to get my son's appointment for the first week in August.  I still remember what I went through (and that was over 20 years ago) when I had my crown done, I hate the injection and the sound of the drill and had to go back twice before the actual crown was fitted.  I don't like it when the impressions are taken either and why do dentists always ask you questions when you've got a gob full of that stuff?

I always dread the summer holidays but if this one goes the same as the last year then I haven't much to worry about as my son spent a lot of his time at the local library, it's only around the corner and down the road and he didn't really spend that much time at home unless we had made plans to go out anywhere.  OH has booked a week off towards the end of August, so that will break it up a bit and we will probably go out for days if the weather is nice.

Hi all, Yes i hate going to the dentist as well, in the waiting room everyone is frightened i suppose it's a bit like being on death row. If I am just due for a checkup the dentist comes to our house but he also calls on a few neighbours in the same day, I have been in the garden for an hour but it's miserable and wet.

I've not heard of dentists doing house calls before.

Sunny here at the moment and a bit windy.

Cold and cloudy here, yes dentists can call at peoples homes if it presents difficulty for everyone to go to them, we don't get treatment at home it's only for checkups. A lot of residents here have either a physical disability or special needs and so it's easier for the dentist to vist everyone on the same day.

Yes, Yvette, I grow lots of lilies in pots and keep them in from year to year.  Also plant some spring bulbs with them so have double value.  Just a matter of regular watering and feeding.

Totally agree Digger - fear is the name of the game with me and dentists! That's why Sue1002 I went all the way to Newcastle, I was recommended to this one by an old school friend. I will only go to one who is recommended by word of mouth ha ha! There is one in our local village, but she is a lady and I'm not being sexist here, just had a very bad experience once with a female dentist!

Well its lovely this afternoon, we had a short but heavy downpour earlier, so I'm going back out now to the usual - WEEDING!!!

I now understand about the travelling distance Susiq, I thought perhaps it might have been because it was the nearest one you could get with how things are on the NHS these days.

We had a heavy downpour earlier too - just as the washing was about dry!

Didn't se your original post yvette, it coincided with one of mine, I had been keeping my oriental lilies in pots and all was well, until this year the lily bulbs expanded so much that they cracked the terracotta pot open, so i have now got them all in the ground. Today we have the usualStormStormand moreStorm! pots that i have in the back garden are getting splashed with mud and very wet even though they are on feet, so I have brought as many as I can into the greenhouses and the others are on the patio all in a jumbled collection waiting for better weather which will not be this week.
