That's the spirit Jo, it might take a while but no doubt you will win in the end.

It's dried up here for now too.

Hi all, I've had clematis arabella with a lot of powdery mildew, it's in a container but obviously not one that's big enough, I didn't anticipate how big the plant would grow it's canopy toSurprise and because it is so big I cannot get enough water into the container to prevent the mildew so I've given it 20 litres of diluted feed and a litre of fungicide sprayed onto the leaves, I hope it's works.

Your clematis pots must be bigger than mine digger, as I can only get one watering can full at a time into each one before the water starts coming out the bottom of the pot.

It's a big square terracotta pot with a wheatsheaf embossed onto it, I got it half price in a sale somewhere I think LBS, it can hold 45 litres of compost so I thought it would be ideal for a group three clem but the canopy of leaves and flowers is much bigger than I anticipated, I always end up doing something stupid when OH leaves me alone for too longIndifferent

I saw the runner beans in the supermarket this morning at £3.99 a kilo, they were all dried up and I thought to myself that my fresh ones look a lot better than that!!  And with the amount of tomatoes I'm picking I won't be buying any more of their tasteless ones for a good couple of months either.

Which CD did you get?  The first time I ran mine I had to open up the start menu on the computer and click on the 'run' button for the CD/DVD drive but after that it loads automatically but can take a couple of minutes to load.

However, knowing me, I'm probably doing domething dippyEmbarrassed I got the middle range version - 3,500 plants with 9,000 photo's

Yes, re the veg, that's exactly how I felt - one word for it - SMUGWink

That's one I have (with the autumn leaves on the cover), while it's loading I get a small square dot appearing in the middle of the screen until it loads, is that appearing on your screen?

Edit: On the front cover it says Mac & PC compatible.

Mine just ran straight away when i put it in the cd drawer thing, a box came in the middle of the screen asking me if i wanted to run the cd rom, a bit of a stupid question really, seeing as I had obviously put it in the machine for that very reason. I have all my plants in the list and I like the insects section as well.

That's probably because you've got Vista and I've still got XP.

One of my boys attacked my sweetcorn in a temper this evening.  He kicked off a few cobs but nearly all the tassels at the top. Tongue Tied  What I need to know is will the loss of the tassels make a difference to the plants that stilll have cobs left?

Hi all, Ohh Anemone you've got your hands full with some naughty boys there Sad Once the plant has made the corn cobs the tassels at the top have done their bit, so they should still be okay. They might take a while to ripen though, I did some corn and it was mid October before they were ready to eat. It sounds like you've got your work cut out my friend, I hope your naughty boy realises his error and apologises for his behaviour. Our youngest son gets uptight many a time and he swears like a trooper at me , really foul language, but I have to keep telling myself that he can't help it.

Today it's raining again so I'll be indoors for the duration.

Ouch AnenomeSuper Angry They just don't realise the hard work involved - kids hey - they drive you nuts, but you wouldn't be without them!

Yep Digger, I'm indoors for the duration too - its not stopped Storm and looks like its here to stay AGAIN! The good news is that I've got my CD up and running - I had to go onto a techy type forum to get it sorted, but sorted it is and my goodness what a fantastic tool!

The wind has blown and snapped a few of my broad bean stems, but the beans on the broken ones were ready for picking anyway, so that's ok.
