Clipping fir trees

    Is it ok to clip back my fir trees in this drought or will I suffer with die back. Or is it best to wait until the rains come

    Hi Paul, do you know what type the firs are? Usual advice would be not to do anything serious to plants when they are under stress. I would guess that most of our plants are under stress at the moment. However, I think if it is just a light clip it should do no harm, in fact it would reduce the area of the plant that loses most water through transpiration. Blackstart
