    Hi

Is anyone else out there having problems with caterpillars eating tomatoes?  I have found dozens of the little green things in my greenhouse and am forever picking them off and leaving on the bird table for the birds to eat.  They have all but ruined the tomatoes - everyday I find a few more of the pesky things.

I'm relative new to growing tomatoes - last year they were a failure but the year before they were wonderful!  It's a new greenhouse and I am not growing anything else in there.

I know I can't do much about them now but is the problem excessive this year?

I get the odd caterpillar on the tomatoes in the greenhouse every year and so far this year, I've only picked one tomato (from 10 plants in there) that had a caterpillar inside it.

We have lots of tame house sparrows in the garden who do actually spend a lot of time inside the greenhouse every day, obviously feeding off insects in there and also drinking the water from the trays under the plants.
