Could well be. I do think, though, that we must keep our fingers crossed.

I was informed by an RHS high up at the London.show today that the forum will be reprieved. Time will tell!

From what I have been informed if the forum is used " without nastiness" it will continue. So it is probably adviseable to continue to post with sensible observations/questions without humbug prattle.

Do hope recent news here is correct and the forums continue.

Even if in clunky state ... when compared to other forums.

    Nastiness is just horrid. Unnecessary.

Surely we can all be adult and pleasant..it is after all plants/gardens that we all share an interest in.

Now if this was a forum about politics...well that would be different!

This whole business is really strange. This excellent forum had a warning 16 months ago that it's future was being reviewed. Since then the participants have been in what I believe is called "limbo." and most have walked away. If we had an indication that the forum had positive support of the RHS Council I am sure it would quickly regain its former vigour and that many previous supporters would return. It would then become an outstanding source of horticultural knowledge out-shining all the other "imitators" I cannot believe that after all this time a decision as to this forum's future has not been made. I really do think that management action is required sooner rather than later so as not to devalue the excellent name of the Society. God bless everyone with green fingers!

Fully agree. The Society needs to get it's finger (green or otherwise) out and let the remaining forum users know what it;'s intentions are and then get on and do it.

Ok we've been limping along for another year. Has anybody heard anything from the RHS about the future of this community.

Not a word Nigel. I am now sorry that I did not think to raise the matter when at Hampton Court yesterday.

The active members list does not really reflect the activity, or lack of it. Is the lack of interest because it is a bit too serious? Some of the other gardening forums are very informal.
