I keep hearing that there will be a potato shortage due to the wet weather, especially in Scotland. Do I need to buy my seed potatoes now before they all run out? I have a discount voucher for garden4less but if I buy them now I don't know how to keep them until I am ready to plant them. And when should I plant them? Sorry to sound dippy but I am new to veg growing. Thanks Saz

You may as well grow a few of your own anyway, Saz. They're very easy. There's lots of info here: http://www.rhs.org.uk/Gardening/Grow-Your-Own/Veg-A-to-Z/Potatoes

I buy my seed potatoes direct from Jamieson Brothers of Annan, and I find my seed potatoes always to be top quality. They ship them out when it's best to start chitting them up, so storage isn't usually a problem.
