Hey there. Just received my very first blackberry plant from the nursery, but I'm not quite sure if all looks as it should. After some research on the internet, I'm beginning to suspect that perhaps the purple dots on the green leaves and also the (shriveling) red/purple leaves could be due to spur blight or blackberry rust?

It's an upright cultivar "Lubera's Navaho Biganddearly" - about 65cm tall. Here are some pictures I took. Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated.

I would not be at all worried. It have just planted a couple of "Rubens" primocane type and their leaves (or what is left of them) are not at all a pretty sight. I think it is just normal autumn leaf deterioration. I would be very surprised if by next spring the new leaves did not look perfect. Good luck
