  Shelloch Location: Glasgow Joined on: 24 Apr 2011 Posts: 4	Reply | Contact Can anyone identify this ground-cover plant I saw growing along the bank of a shady stream please? ( Not the bramble - the pale green leaves which have small new leaves growing from the tip of the petiole, as if on top of the older leaves! Thanks.

  Reply | Contact It is Tolmiea. Common name is Piggy back plant. Often used as a houseplant, it is perfectly hardy outside. If the leaves are mottled and yellow it is possibly Tolmiea menziesii Taff's Gold.
