I have an area of decking in my new garden that is bordered by a privet (and bindweed) hedge. There is a narrow bed between the decking and hedge, about 1' wide, with very poor soil, shadowed and drained by the hedge. Is there anything i can plant in it? I am considering gravel and pots but would be happy with something fairly low to keep weeds down and still allow acces for clipping hedge. Ideas welcomed with gratitude!

not that im a fan, but you could probably get away with growing some vinca or hedra down there if you just wanted some ground cover..
