what`s eating my flower petals

    hi all could anyone tell me what is eating my flower petals on my rudbekia goldstrum ..thanks in advance ....

    Could it be earwigs? They like petals of many flowers and are active at this time of year. Set up a traditional earwig trap, i.e. an upside-down flowerpot filled with straw balanced on a cane. Earwigs will hide in this and you can then shake them out and dispose of them. Cheers,

    If the bite marks are triangular, it's birds, probably sparrows.

    It is usually slugs/snails - but a check at night with a torch will reveal the culprit(s). The wet weather has made them a big problem this year
