forsythia as a hedge

could you guys give me some pointers on pruning forsythia as a hedge please? i'd like to try it on our one but im not quite sure how to go about it. cheers :)

You have 2 choises..hmm..or 3... To cut it like traditional hedge with 'short back and sides'...and end up with neat hedge shape that doesn't flower much. Or you can be selective and cut any branches back that are 'poking out' and leave the hedge looking 'hairy' and slightly wild and have blast of colour each spring. Depending of the variety of Forsything you've used..some can grow huge and would not suit the 'wilder' option if the space is issue. You could try combination of those 2 above..one year be more ruthless with pruning and put the hedge into shape and after that allow couple of years of more selective growth which will provide some more flowers until you do need to shape the hedge again.
