some of my carrots have started to turn yellow. they are nantes, which i think is a early crop.

are these ready for harvest, or do they need fertilising?

can i use liquid 7-7-7 to feed them?

will an early strain continue to grow until it is harvested, or does it die at the end of its life cycle? thanks for your time

Pull a few and have a look at them.It might be nutrient deficiency in view of the wet weather leaching the soil but it is more likely to be carrot fly -you will see the tunnels in the roots. If it is pull up and discard all the yellowing ones and start to eat the rest quickly before they all go. Carrots are biennial and if you dont harvest them this year will grow on to flower and seed next year. In the process they become inedibly woody and the overwintered ones keep the carrot flies happy all winter. Pull them and enjoy them as soon as they are big enough. The later ones will be bigger but the babies usually taste pretty good.If it is nutrition your 7-7-7 will be fine although a purist might use a higher phosphate for roots.
