The pictures below are of a shrub we saw recently on the Isle of Wight. It looks to evergreen but was covered in small bell shaped lilac flowers with yellow stamen. We have shown photos to local garden centres and no-one recognises the shrub. It was some 2' high with a 2' spread. You help would be appreciated in identifying it as we would like to plant one in our garden.
The house owners were out so we couldn't ask them!
