Hello, we have a type of climber/tree shrub
in our garden and I wanted to know what it was so I could get another one for
our other side. It is an evergreen type, and grows quite prolific in the summer
months, at present it is about 2.8 meters high and growing. It was originally attached
to a trellis against the fence but the trunk is now quite thick, and can stand
free of the trellis. Can I take a cutting from it and use it to
grow in my other desired location, if so any advice would be appreciated?

That looks like a Solanum.

I agree with Sue. A vigorous evergreen climbing Solanum is Solanum crispum. A popular one is Solanum crispum Glasnevin. Same family as Potato ... hence the common name Chilean potato tree./ Chilean potato vine. https://www.google.co.uk/search?sugexp=chrome,mod%3D14&q=solanum+crispum&um=1&ie=UTF-8&hl=en&tbm=isch&source=og&sa=N&tab=wi&ei=BqrVT8K5Asuo8QOzkJyLAw&biw=1536&bih=776&sei=CKrVT8zAB4XF8gOfldCYAw
