I have recently planted out my sweet pea plants after growing them from seeds.  The leaves on a lot of the plants have started to turn yellow and they look as though they are going to die.  It is a very hot spell at the moment so I water them every evening.  Is it possible to over water them?  I have looked to see if there are any pests on the leaves and cannot see anything.  The plants had a good strong root system when I planted them out.  What could be the problem?  I am growing them up a trellis.

If they're in the ground it's very unlikely you've overwatered them. If they're in a pot that is a possibility.

Whether you think you can do a thing, or think you cannot, you are right.

most of the legume family are hungry plants. it soujnds to me like lack of nutrients. give them a liquid feed to help boost their energy levels.
