Nodules on Yucca leaves

It has recently developed these nodule like structures at the tips of the leaves. There are 2 on each leaf, and they are in the same position on most leaves, a very regular pattern of growth. It has been growing happy outside on my rockery for many years but only recently shown these strange growths.
