The front garden of my 1930s bungalow is roughly 20ft by 18ft. (my car stands to the side of this) It's grassed with a very narrow border and very old roses in the centre which I'm taking out. I'd very much like, as a complete newcomer to gardening, some ideas of a feature plant for the centre. The front of the house gets all the sun in the mornings........

Could you narrow your choises down a bit..what would you like to see there?..any particular colour, flowering plant or non flowering, how tall, plant on its own or with amongst something else, low maintenance or bit of work needing plant, how much room does that plant have for to spread or you want it to, ..etc..??? Have you thought of perharps some sort of obelisk and having climber or two on it? Is stricly ornamental that you are after or have you thought you could grow something edible and still looking nice? What else have you growing nearby?...what's you soil like? Once you have your wish list together..then it is easier to start going through the thousands and thousands of option that is available for you...
