    Hi,

I recently got a small grape vine, however over the last month or so it really seems to have been suffering. Does anyone know what might be causing this? Is there still hope!?

    leaf damage

    Thanks

I'm no vine expert but yes there's plenty of hope. Autumn approacheth (although today's weather's no guide), and this is how vines tend to look at the end of the season. Once established, these are tough plants. Get it planted so the roots can start doing their job and it will be fine. Remember: 'A sixpenny plant in a half-crown hole' - plant it well, and it will prosper. And it really is worth using mycorrhizal fungi, like Rootgrow etc, to help it get goiong and growing strongly. This is the perfect time of year to be planting. Good luck.

    Hi

Thanks for the advice Alex - I am a total gardening newbie. I should point out I think the vine is a purposely grown as a dwarf for growing in small areas like patios. Should it be ok in the teracotta pot shown in the image below?

I've got a small greenhouse and once the cold weather draws in I am planning on fleecing it up and putting in hibernation for winter.

What makes you think that it is a dwarf variety?
