I am absolutely gobsmacked that in the Home Counties this week there have been two hail storms on two separate days. IN JUNE!!!!!!!! How any plant can not get confused by this is beyond me.  Surprise

HI sweet_t, hail is a common occurence here in NL, especially during the summer. Another reason why I use horticultural fleece on really fragile seedlings. Hope you don't get any more!

@Eva - I guess I was just lucky then because I lived in NL for a couple of years during the 1990s and had gloriously hot summers, with not a trace of hail! Lol.

Maybe I'm just more aware of what's happening with the weather now that I have veggies in that garden at its mercy.... Hmm

All my containers had been knocked over by the wind this morning - and I'm talking about large 1m wide ones with beans and tomato vines in them!? Poor things are getting a real mix of weather!?
