Hi all, a late sign in again from me today after food shopping this morning and a few household chores this afternoonEmbarrassed

We have had a very showery day here today with hailstones this afternoon too Sue so no gardening today for me. We had pork chops for our dinner today with wedges and veg. Your petunias sound good. I planted up some purple pansies in the front windowbox yesterday, they came up again in a pot I had in the back garden. Wink

Miranda, I was reading about you  being bitten by a horsefly ..ouch that sounds particularly nasty. Thinking of you and  I hope you are OKRight Hug

Well done with the orchid bargain lillyrose what a great find!Yes I bought a box of Leo dried peas today and will be planting some in the garden as I did the other year and also growing some for salads

Looking forward to coming to your place Susiq with lillyrose, for some of your delicious Thai curryWink, and seeing a pic of the handsome  pesky pair DogDog

I love purple pansies Richard and purple violasSmile. I have never put pea shoots in a salad before but think I will give it a go. Our market has a stall which sells seeds, 3 pkts for £1 so I will look out and get some peas just for saladsSmile.

Thanks, Richard! The antibiotics are working and it's getting better so I can avoid hospital this time, thank goodness.

Pea shoots are delicious, lillyrose, do try them. I hadn't tried them till a couple of years ago and was quite surprised - they taste just like peas.

Thinking about Thai curry and fish cakes is making me drool something horrible!

All ok at the dentists I just had a scrape and polish and will go again in another 6 months. I walked part of the way back then Cheryl picked me up as it is a few miles away.

Our son had a nice surprise through the post today, he had a £100 cheque as he was the winner in a competition that he did online with the  newspaper. He is very lucky with competitions his last win was a £450 food mixer and he also won £250 with spot the ball a couple of years ago, besides other smaller prizes including a crate of Guinness!.Wink

Hee hee hee - battery for camera is on charge as I type Lillyrose - actually it's been in there since this morningEmbarrassed I'd planned to get SO much done today, and needless today have literally acheived zilcho apart from ordering some stuff on line! I wish we had a stall like that Lillyrose, come to think of it, I wish we had a decent market nearby!

Well done to Dave - yet again Richard, I really should get back into comping again!

Ouch Miranda, that sounds really painful - hope it clears up really quicklyRight Hug

Ah, so you are still being cautious Sue about putting stuff outside - where on earth are all these nasty wintery showers coming fromHmm

Glad the antibiotics are working well for you Miranda, you should be all cleared up in a couple of daysSmile

Well done to Dave, Richard on his latest win, has he got any ideas what he's going to spend it on?  It's good to hear your dentist visit went ok and you don't have to go back any time soon.

Yes, I'm still being cautious about what I leave out overnight Susiq, I don't want my hard earned work going down the pan unneccessarilyWink  I think we're going to be in for another cool night tonight so I'm going to put things back undercover again, they've had a nice day outside in the sunshineSmile

Morning all  - where is everyoneConfused

Well here's a couple of snaps of the 'pests' with their haircuts, and the lawn has had a haircut too, courtesy of OH! Loads of baldy patches to deal with - on both the lawn and poor Portia - she's had several tests at the vets and they don't know what it is, they think it may just be a 'hormonal' thing, thankfully its not bothering her!

Don't they look fine, Susiq! Looks a bit like they're wearing wooly cowboy's chaps in the top picture.

I haven't put any tender plants out yet either, Sue. Not till the night temps are above 10C and there's none of that showing the forecasts yet. Soon, hopefully.

Nice one on the competition wins for your son, Richard!

My arm is getting better, thank you. It's still a bit swollen/blistery/blotchy, but a great deal better than it was. Been told not to do any work till the antibiotics are finished, so am lolling about at home twiddling my thumbs.

Afternoon all, cloudy and chilly here.

Thanx for the pictures SusiqSmile, both looking as gorgeous as ever. You are right Miranda, they do look like chaps lol. Does Portia chew her fur or is it just coming out in patches. When my Mum lost one of her dogs a couple of years ago the young dog started chewing fur away and the vet said it was the stress of losing his 'brother'. If I remember rightly hasn't she had this problem for a while nowConfused. Do you think it might have affected her hormones having her pups.....

Well done yet again to Dave on his winYes and glad your teeth are ok Richard.

Glad your arm is getting better Miranda. Make the most of having some time off workWink.

I bought some English strawbs in the market this morning so I have just made a couple of sponge cakes that I will sandwich together with fresh cream and themStick out tongue

Make the most of your down time Miranda, I'm sure once your arm is healed and the weather takes a turn for the better, you will be mega, mega full on!

Yes Lillyrose, I definately think its something to do with having the puppies - she hasn't had a 'season' since then! No, it doesn't worry her at all and she's never chewed her coat or anything, the fur has literally stopped growing in those two patches each side of her body. Mmmm strawberries, all of mine have flowers on at the moment, so will hopefully get some soon(ish)! Baggsie a slice of one of those cakes!

Good afternoon all. Hope you didn't have any frost last night Sue..I think we were ok here. I had a good time out with the old boys I used to work with at luchtime at a nearby pub. We went out for some beer and lunch. C took me and N brought me back so I was well looked after!Big SmileYes

No flowers on our strawberries yet in the tower Susiq I think I need to replace them as the plants are over 3 years old now. Hope you get a good crop this year. I loved the pics of Percy and Portia and so did the rest of the family here.. DogDog

I am coming over for a slice of strawberry sponge cake lillyrose. I see that you spoil your family with all these goodies!Stick out tongue

Glad your arm is on the mend Miranda. I sent a link to your horsefly article to one of my friends. Take care and enjoy your few days of restSmile

Glad your arm is getting better now Miranda, it must feel strange not being able to work until it's completely better.

Love the pics of P&P Susiq, Sasha has the same collar as Percy but hers is red.  I bet Portia is loving not coming into season again, I wonder what's happened there.

I'll get to lillyrose's before you Richard, there won't be any of her cake leftWink

All finished at work for me this week, I'm hoping to get the window boxes planted up tomorrow.

Aaaaw, the pooches look so cute, Susiq.

Glad the arm is getting better, Miranda. Must be frustrating not being able to do much.

I've got flowers on my strawberries - this time last year they were producing ripe fruit. (It was my Mum's birthday and last year we took her out and included home grown strawberries with the cream tea picnic)
