I have just gone to pot on my Petunias, put my glasses on to write some new tags for the pots and discovered they were in fact Parsnips not Petunias Big Smile. Note to self, 'must wear glasses when looking at pots to see what has germinated'.

Good Afternoon all, Haha ..so glad your OH had a chuckle about the barking lillyrose.  A sunny day here and quite warm too, we have actually got some clothes on the rotary line outside for first time this year. I am cooking some roast pork today and also cooking a chicken in the oven at the same to have tomorrow. Have fun in the GH and enjoy your roast duck. Stick out tongue

You sound as though you have a nice lot of chillies coming along Susiq. Thank you for your reply, and your compliments on Nicola's cakes. Your greenery pics are a lovely sign of Spring.  Your OH seems like a busy lad with all his cooking. Hope he gets on OK today..Big SmileYes

Thanks Sue for getting me some chilli plants ready I appreciate your effort for doing this for me. You have had a productive time in the GH by the sound of it.Smile

Nice one lillyrose, although I expect you are glad you noticed the mistake before you went to pot them onWink  I've just sown the parsnips outside and sown some radish seeds along the same rows as those come up quickly and mark out where the parsnips are, and I should also be harvesting the radishes not too long after the parsnips start coming up.

It's good to hear you have the good weather up your way too Richard, when I checked the greenhouse, it has got to 30°C.

I  topdressed the fig tree instead of repotting it into a larger pot as it is heavy enough to move as it is without going bigger.  I've also pruned the lemon plant, washed every one of it's leaves to get rid of the whitefly infestation on it and repotted it into one of my buckets, I was going to put it into a proper pot and then realised that the pot I was going to repot it into this year, had already been used when I repotted the lily bulbs last autumn.

Morning all and a change in the weather here today, it's quite a bit cooler and foggy but hopefully that should soon start to clear up.

Hi everyone, another gorgeous day here!

Sounds like you have all been really busy gardening wise. Ha ha ha Lillyrose, a couple of years ago I got quite a few seedlings really wrongly tagged! At least you did spot your mistake before it was too late.

Good idea to get 2 joints cooked at the same time Richard, saves a lot of effort today hey!

Your lemon tree should be lovely and healthy Sue after all that cleaning, thats why I cheated with the fumagator in the GH to save all that work on the overwintered plants, I just hope its done its stuff!

Well there was a bottle of champagne for the winner of the pud comp, OH didn't win it and a tin of baked beans for the worst entry - pleased to say OH didn't win? that either! I have to say, hands on heart, I did think his was the best tasting one there, never mind there's always next year! I'm going to spend the rest of the day in the GH, lots of sowing and potting on to do.

Morning all, foggy here too Sue but I'm hoping the sun will come through soon.

Sounds like you had a productive day yesterday Sue, I bet your lemon tree feels better now you have cleaned its leavesSmile. I have great trouble moving my fig tree too, it is in a half barrel, that is why it stays out all winter.

Well I got loads done yesterday, I potted on lots of seedlings, sowed some rhubarb chard, leaf chicory, red iceberg type lettuce and some greek basil. I also moved some of my herbs to a new place, split my big clump of chives and planted up another pot of spuds.

That is a good idea Sue, sowing radish where you have sown parsnipsYes

Shame OH didn't win the champagne SusiqWink, well done to him though for entering. What are you sowing today.

What you up to today Richard, anything nice

That's a shame your OH didn't win the comp Susiq but at least he didn't win the booby prize.  Have fun with your sowing and potting on today.

You did gets lots done yesterday lillyrose, no doubt you will be doing much the same as me today and not doing a lot outside, my back is aching a little after all that bending yesterday so I thought I'll give the gardening a miss today but will do some more tomorrow.  I did go and look in the propagator earlier on and took out a pot and a tray of seedlings that had started coming up so that will give me plenty of room to get the tomato seeds done tomorrow.

Yes thanks ladies, I'm sure the lemon plant is feeling much better as well as looking it, after its wash.  The leaves are nice and glossy again now instead of being covered in whitefly and loads of sticky stuff.

Good afternoon all, shame your OH didn't win the pud competition Susiq,  it seems as though he tried hard..so he will know how to make you one now in the week, with no excuses. Have a good time in the poly today and let us know how you get on.Yes

I have not done a lot so far lillyrose apart from ordering some headphones and a small magnetic digital photoframe on the net which seems like a real bargain for less than £10 delivered. I plan to go out in the graden in a while and see how things are out there. I have some seed potatoes chitting in the garage and they should be ready to 'bucket up' soon.  We are having chicken and chips for our meal tonight - it is the chicken I cooked yesterday!Big Smile

I have some whitefly and sticky leaves on a couple of my houseplants too Sue I took them outside the other day under the gazebo so I think I will wash them off with soapy water this afternoon. I sowed some tomato seeds last week Sue and am waiting for them to germinate.Sleep

I am out this evening as usual up the local for some medicineWink.

Sounds like you've been having a nice lazy day Richard, enjoy your couple of jars laterBeer

Your houseplants should be ok with the soapy water, that's what I used to do the lemon leaves.  If you sowed your tomato seeds last week, they should be up pretty soonSmile

You were right Sue, I didn't do anything in the garden today. It has stayed misty and chilly all day so I have been catching up indoors. My left shoulder and left side of my neck is realy aching today, another reason for no gardening. How is your back this evening.

    Enjoy your BeerBeer tonight RichardSmile.

They have just announced on our local news that we will have a hosepipe ban here as from AprilSurprise.

    Fish fingers tonight

Hope your shoulder and neck get better soon lillyrose.  My back is ok now after resting it all dayWink

The hose ban hits us from next month too, I learned about it yesterday when I read about it on one of our local newspaper sites and today we received this year's water bill saying it's going up by nearly £10 a month...

    Hi all,

Hope your aches and pains are much better today ladies, after all your hard work!

Enjoy your shopping trip Lillyrose and let us know your bargainsSmile

Hope the medicine did the trick last night RichardWink Sounds like you got two great bargains off t'internetYes

It's supposed to get out nice here later, I'm potting on some olde english marigolds, good grief, I've got hundreds, so might try to sell some trays of them once I've separated them out. I always fill the lodge garden with them as they stay in flower for months, but I've gone a bit too mad with them this year! Yes, you poor things having the hose ban, especially at this critical growing time of the season, and that is just adding insult to injury Sue, that they've increased the priceAngry They were also saying on the news that eggs will increase in price 4 fold and potatoes may be short this year as farmers are changing their crops due to the water shortage, think I'd best get a load more seed tatties!
