    Hi everyone.

Glad you enjoyed your meal last night Richard, they must do nice food if you have booked for xmas alreadyYes. I have gone a bit mad with my chillies this year, so far I have got 62 seedlingsSurprise, no way will I be keeping them allWink. Love Nicola's butterfly cakes, they are very pretty and well done Cheryl too.

No I never did get that book SueSad. Glad your car is OK and you are happy with itSmile. How big do you let your chillies get before you pot them on, mine are about an inch high but only have their 'seed' leaves. We haven't had any wind here and although it has stayed cloudy it has been quite mild.

Did you get the poly finished Susiq. What about OH's dessert, have you tried it yet. Hmmmm, about GS's biscuitsStick out tongueEmbarrassed, lets just say Maisie Khan and I had a good sample of them lol

Hi lillyrose, I potted my chilli seedlings up at their seed leaf stage. I started them off in a pot. Last year I had far too many of them like you have. I have been looking for the rainbow coloured chillies they look nice but haven't found any...I will see if I can find the link for them to show you.Wink :- found it:-

I haven't actually counted the chillies yet Richard, all I know is that five or six different varieties have come up and there are a few of each.  I pot mine on at the seed leaf stage too (they are currently about an inch and a half tall) as I find if I leave them too much longer, the roots get tangled around each other and they are more difficult to separateWink  I'll send you a couple of my Bolivian Rainbow seedings as they are very much like the ones shown in the link you provided.

That's a shame you haven't got your book yet lillyrose, have you been given another delivery date yet?

    Hi all

And a BIG happy birthday to Khan (need a pic of a nice juicy bone here!) Hee hee hee, Richard is right - your poor OH, whats he got - mince and tattiesWink I'm laughing but thats what we're having tonight, mince that is, not steak! Crikey I thought I had a lot of chillies through, but 62Surprise think you will be scoring lots of brownie points with friends if you are going to give some away.

I started my chillies off individually this year Sue, in those really small pots, will post a pic of my seedlings, I had them all in the lodge conservatory as it actually gets more sunlight than the GH, but I've had to move them out today as we've got guests coming. They are sitting in the kitchen, until the heater has had a chance to warm the GH up. I set off that fumagator this morning in the GH PHEWEEEE did it stinkIck!

I've sent you a reply Richard, wish I could book that for Christmas! Nicola's cakes are absolutely beautiful, how professional to have those new boxes for them too - pity OH couldn't borrow her for the pudding comp tomorrow!

It was lovely and hot in the greenhouse today and I've potted on 53 chilli seedlings, 5 tree tomato seedlings and some Zinnias.  Then I went outside and planted the onion sets so quite a bit done out there todaySmile

I'll wait for the chilli seedlings to get a good root system Richard and will then send you a couple of plants of thoseSmile

Haha lillyrose, something tells me your OH was not impressed giving the steak to the dogsWink after reading about the steak though, I've just put a steak pie in the oven for our dinner tonight.

Wowee Susiq, your plants are coming along really wellYes are the ones in the pots with the sticks, the show leeks? they look a lovely size. Good luck to your OH tomorrow with the pudding comp.

Yes, it does seem like I went mad with the chillies but I only sowed a few of each variety (and I'm still waiting for one variety to make a show as none of them have come up yet).  I will probably keep two or three of each one and will have the others to swap/give away or sell (I could put a sign in my front garden like I did last year with the tomsWink)

Thanx Ladies for the good luck wishes for OH - er the air has been blue in the kitchen this afternoon - I just had to poke my nose in where it wasn't wanted, but er it was needed at times I have to sayEmbarrassedWink

Yes Sue, the 'fat ones' at the back with canes are the 'pot' leeks, and the others with canes are the Pendle ones.

Enjoy your pies both of you, mince and mash for us, once I can get anywhere near the kitchen after this afternoon's cookathon! Getting a bit worried about our guests though, no calls or sign of them as yetHuh? We haven't been able to walk the dogs or anything, just in case they just turn up without calling first!

Have a good evening one and all, chat tomorrow.

Morning all, it's another lovely day here and I'm definitely going to be making the most of being outside and my first job will be to sow some parsnip seeds.

Good luck today with your OH's competition entry Susiq, and well done for poking your nose in, it sounds like it was definitely neededWink

I shall be spending most of the day in the garden and GH, blissBig Smile. My parsnips haven't come through yet but if I remember from last year they took ages to sprout.

    Roast duck today Richard.
