    Hello there everyone, I'm back!

Been having a bit of a rough time healthwise but am coming out the other side now! I've missed reading your posts but there's too many now to really catch up on them all. I hope you don't mind me starting off from here and moving forward.

I've got no news whatsover! Haven't even been to the allotment, heaven knows what a jungle it is out there now.

How are you Sis, I liked the pics of the beans and peas, had to buy mine this week.  I'v ordered rain for you, it's on the way over to you now. You only had to say... Big Smile

Susiq, I can send Lilian over to train Percy for you if you like (I'll come along too so we can chat while she does the hard workDrinks). Caulis are still on my list of disasters, what did you do differently this year to get good results?

Congrats on being cast-free Richard, must be nice to loose it with the weather warming up again. Now stay out of trouble and do your fysio excercises! Right Hug

Sue my goodness where do you find the time to knit as well as all the other stuff you do!  Surprise

I see you've settled in nicely JG and if you keep sending us pics of delicious food we'll be round one of these days! You've been warned... Wink

Nice to see you again RogerB, all your plants are in great health by the look of things, were those fuchsias from cuttings you took yourself?

Dinner time for me now, hope there's still pizza in the freezer, can't be bothered to shop and cook, want to check on the allotment tonight...

    Later! x

Hope you get some rain as promised lillyrose, my water butts are down to about a quarter full and need filling up again.

Good luck with getting all the cleaning finished JG.

You must be relieved to be free of the plaster cast Richard.  When my son had his plaster removed last year, his arm was all skinny with the flaky skin too which soon went after he washed it properly.  It didn't take too long before it went back to it's normal size although he was told to not do PE at school for another six weeks afterwards to make sure everything had mended properly.

Best of luck finding a trainer for Percy Susiq, what's the 'little' devil been up to?  Congrats with your first cauliYes I'm still waiting for mine, I've got plenty of leaf on mine but no curds forming yet.  I had my first calabrese of the season for dinner today, a lovely sized piece went down very wellBig Smile

Hope you're on the mend now EvaRight Hug, is it still the side effects from the no smoking medication? Hope you don't have too many weeds when you get to the lottie.

Thanks for the compliments on the knitted items everyone,  the little items don't take very long at all once I get going and find that I can often knock up a back or a front or a sleeve during an evening, having one eye on what I'm knitting and the other on the tv.

It has been raining here for the past hour so looks like my water butt will get topped upBig Smile. Hi SisRight Hug, sorry you have been feeling un well, glad you are back with usWilted Flower. That has gone quick RichardYes, bet it feels good now the cast is off. I have told C what you are up to and she wont be letting you 'milk it'Wink. Susiq, one of my friends years back had a male and female dog that she mated and she had a similar problem with the male becoming aggressive and in the end she had him 'done' (on advice) and the problem went. Well done with your cauli, look forward to the picsSmile. I don't know how you can knit and watch telly at the same time Sue, I have enough trouble just trying to knitTongue Tied

It's good to hear your arm is improving already RichardSmile

Yes please Susiq for the cauli pics.  I was wondering the same as lillyrose has mentioned about getting Percy 'done' to cure the problem and it would be cheaper too for Percy to be done compared to Portia.

Glad you've got some rain lillyrose, it's been raining here for the last hour or so and I can hear the water dripping rather quickly into the butt by the back doorBig Smile   With the knitting, if it's a complicated pattern, it's more listening to the tv rather than watching it properlyWink

Morning all, the weather is dry here at the moment but looking very threatening in the distance so I suspect we are in for more rain.

Good to see you back in circulation again Eva and that you are on the mend.

Richard, you must be so glad to be out of the cast on your arm, good to know it’s improving.

My caulis went in late this year because of the very long dry spell we had so I’ve got wait a while longer before I found out if the heads are going to develop properly.

Thanks for the compliments on the fuschias, the back 3 are all from cuttings (2 from OH parents old garden and the middle one from mine – varieties unknown at present). The front 3 I bought and are, from left to right, Sunray, Autumnale and Tom West.

Time to go and water the GH - the one bit that didn’t get soaked yesterday afternoon, which included me, as I was working over the allotment at the time.

Catch up again later, got a pesticide spraying competence assessment this afternoon, should be fun if it’s chucking it down with rainSadTongue Tied

Give it a go - it might just work!

morning raining here, as it has been all night. At least the garden doen't need a water.

Hope everyone is feeling well today. I'm tired but think that is because I went for a run again last night. I love running in the rain. After all this time I think my body is somewhat protestign to the lack of exercise it has become accustomed to. Which probably also means like last week I'll not be able to walk tomorrow. lol

Fushias are looking good RogerB..hello btw I've recently joined in this friendly group on here. I have a lovely white fushiain my garden. the only surviving one. They were tiny plug plants and the 1st 3 popped their clogs, so the company kindly replaced them as there wsa no reason for their demise. So out of the replacements one has survived. I must try taking some cuttings from it at some point, now you have inspired me to try it

Good luck with the pesticide spraying assesment

Morning all, it's quite sunny and windy here at the moment and everywhere is rather wet after last night's rain.  The water butt by the back door is almost full.

Good luck with your assessment today Roger and hope it doesn't chuck it down for you.

Hope the slugs and snails didn't have too much of a party in your garden last night Richard, I found quite a few slugs yesterday when I was weeding (they were hiding right against the base of the bird feeder where the grass had grown up around it) but I soon got rid of thoseSmile

Hope you manage to perk up a bit today after your run last night JG, I wouldn't have the energy to run but stick to the more gentle exercise of walking Sasha every day.

Best get myself off to work (chicken and salad sarnis today), will see if I can pop in later.  Have a good day everyone.

Morning all, it has just started raining here. We didn't get as much as I thought we would last night, my water butt is only half full but I am hoping it will fill up during today. I hate to think how many slugs were having a party in my veggies last nightTongue Tied. I'm will Sue on the exercise JG, a nice gentle walk with Maisie and Khan will do me just fineWink. Good luck with your assessment Roger, hope it goes well for you. Have a good day at work Sue and save me a sarnie pleaseStick out tongue. x

Morning all, it rained all of last evening and night but now the sun is out again. I'll try and check on the allotment again tonight, if not 2 or 3 extra days of neglect won't matter much!

Good luck with your assement today RogerB, I'm sure you'll do well!

Well done you for getting back to running JG, it'll get easier after a couple of times. YesAnd it is nice to run in the rain, in summer in any case..

I hope the slugs have left your veg alone last night Sis, if not it's time to get the garlic and butter out and calling them escargots, that'll teach 'em! Wink

I don't envy you Susiq, Percy is a big boy to be doing battle with!  Is he still careful around your mum though? That would worry me most. I see you haven't divulged your cauli growing secrets... Wink

I would think C will have developed a very good sense of when you are milking it Richard, you've given her enough experience after all hihihi Wink.

LOL the only thing I can do while watching TV and not make a complete mess of is the washing up Sue - but then my current concentration span is that of a concussed gold fish so I'm not even trying that!  It's mainly the meds yes, but I also put my back out last week, spent 4 incredibly boring days in bed to give it some rest. On top of all that the sole of my foot is a mess (a 3 inch tear) so I can't walk on it until it heals up again. All minor stuff really just wish it wasn't all happening at the same time!

Oh dear Eva, poor youRight HugRight HugRight Hug You really have been in the wars, your foot sounds really painful, not to mention your back! No cauli secrets, the only things I've done different is grow them inside the poly instead of in the outside veggie beds, and of course I think the nematodes have really helped!

Re Percy, yes it is a worry, he's even been 'back answering' my mamAngry Sue1002, the lady at the dog groomers suggested getting him 'done', so I am definately going to look into that, rather than having Portia done.

Hope you don't end up like a drowned rat RogerB! Same here as you JG, rained all night and is just starting to dry up now.

I'm with you Lillyrose, walking the dog and weeding is enough in the exercise stakes for meEmbarrassed

I'm off to do battle with the weeds in the poly, as its not sunny, so shouldn't be too hot in there today! Will post some pics later today.

Poor you Sis Blowing Kisses email background you really are going through it at the moment. Susiq, my friend is the one with the Rottie pup and about 15 years ago she had two Rotties that she allowed to mate, like I said she had the same sort of problem as you are having with Percy so she went to an animal behaviourist and he told her that once a male dog is allowed to mate and father pups his status within the pack (your family) changes and he will see himself as the Alpha male and will fight to stay the top dog, so after talking it through with her vet, she had him done. As you can imagine it was rather scary having a huge Rottie trying to take over the houseSurprise. This weather today is  bonkers, we have just had an hour of brilliant sun and now it is so dark I have put the lights on and it is throwing it down.

  •  Hi all, late on parade again! Oh Eva you are going through a tough time of it at the moment, hope your back and foot are feeling much better today, we are all sending you our best wishes from Leicester. Right Hug

Don't work too hard today Sue, don't forget to save some energy for your garden tonight. We are having chicken for our meal tonight, making a curry and rice.

I like your new avatar JG. Yes it is interesting growing fuchsias from cuttings, good luck with trying it.

Hope you manage to get Percy sorted Susiq I am sure he will be more placid after the 'snippo'....Wink.....DogSurprisewoooof!!

Hope it stays fine for you this afternoon Roger, and good luck with your assessment. I will know where to come if I need any spraying done Yes

C is going to the pics this afternoon with a friend lillyrose, so I will be well in charge of the house. I can decide whether to wash up first or do the cleaning first Yes. N has gone to get details of a level 4 hygiene course at the local college which she is going on shortly in connection with her baking business.Smile

It is sunny now for a few minutes between showers so may pop out in the garden. I am going out with two friends later tonight for a couple of bevviesYesBeer
