    Afternoon all,

Bah!  My subscription to the thread wasn't enabled, so I've been missing everything!  But you can't get away with it for long Stick out tongue
Yes, everyone is right, it is an osteospermum in my picture (the label didn't show up) - it was my 50p bargain one, and its come on a treat now
Nice to meet Caesar, asj!  I'm afraid we're getting your rain, too.  Entire water butts full of the stuff leave along bucketfuls!
We had a lovely night in last night with CHinese and cocktails - not at all good for my digestion, but I had to agree with OH when he said there's no Chinese takeaway like our one at home - despite one last week as a treat on our hols, we felt that it didn't quite hit the spot, so we had one from home Big Smile
The cocktails were yummy too.  An E=mc^2, consisting of southern comfort, lemon juice, maple syrup and topped with champagne (cava in our case).  Then some Paradise Punch: southern comfort, amaretto, vodka and orange, pineapple and lemon juice - I thought that one was much more civilised but OH said it packed the punch of its name! Drinks
Hope you continue to improve Roundelder.  I take supermarket own brand cold and flu relief tablets at the mere hint of a cold and it seems to drive them off.
Sorry about your fall lillyrose, hope you arent too sore!

Had a lovely morning doing nothing, just listening to stuff I haven't heard for ages - none of which I think would be appreciated in such esteemed company, but its geared me up nicely for this evening's band!
I suppose I ought to think about getting out of my pj's  Surprise
Have a lovely day all Big Smile

Check it out on the web. Regards Merv. (look up msaunders13) "   here is the link:-

Just thought I would depress you all, just read in the paper that come September the weather is going to turn cold with above average rain fall and at the end of September there is a strong possibility of SNOW in the north and in the Scotish highlandsSurprise You have got to be joking eh.

Still raining.... thanks Lilyrose for that uplifting bit of news Sis, send me a bucket of your Paradise Punch AT please so I can try and forget it! [:'(] Drinks Wink

I think I'll leave the dahlia growing to Cor but post pics of them and pretend their mine next year Sue! Wink Although I might try that frilly pink one in one of my flower beds next year. Should work well with the white buddleia. Will need to do a bit of reading upon them though, don't even know if they're annual or not... Embarrassed

Hello Richard *wave*, nice to see you again! You've done well with your cosmeas Yes, mine have just turned into a big bush, ripped it out a couple of weeks ago as it was overshadowing and outgrowing the flowerbed. Have a great time tonight down the pub, be careful on your way back though!

Hello Julie and welcome to the forum, I think your post must be on the old thread, haven't seen it yet, but welcome!

Susiq, just in case you're dropping in from time to time: hope you're having a great time with your daughter!

For everyone going out tonight - hope you have a nice time.

My car didn't get done in the end Richard, as it started raining again.  Hopefully, it will stay dry tomorrow (will believe it when I see it) so it can be done then, OH doesn't fancy laying on a wet driveway to do the oil filterWink

Pink Dahlias and the white Buddleja would look really good together Eva, can't wait to see the photos next year to see what they come out like.

I hope what you read in the paper is wrong lillyrose, I do recall seeing on the news in the past that parts of Scotland start having snow in October so let's hope it doesn't come too early for them, we quite often have nice warm weather into October.

Hope you're fully recovered after your op now Dave.

Oooh Dave, send me a big slice of that carrot Cake, sounds good! Glad to hear you're healing up well. Yes I really love the idea of your mom's handwritten cookbook, must have great sentimental value for you.

How's your lotty looking after the holiday AT? You mentioned your garden wasn't too bad, hope your allotment was the same! Any unexpected (good) surprises lurking in the leafage?

Sarah/NSGF, how's the wine making going? No headaches or explosions yet? Wink Not that I expect you or your OH would blow up the place! I just have a great memory of my uncle's shed loosing a side panel after an experiment - with what I think was a potato vodka - went explosively wrong. The moral of the story: don't drink and distil.. Big Smile

Digger how is your friend doing by the way, is he home yet? And how are things with the new parrot? Have hostilities ceased or has he been sent into the great unknown by way of your latest invention?

Miranda, how's your leg doing, getting better I hope! Take it easy, although somehow I doubt that you will get round to that Wink

Was just looking at the 24 hour rain radar forecast thingummy, looks like another Storm day tomorrow. Guess I'll just  have to bite the bullet (or welly in this case) and get out there and do some work. Don't want to let the side down and have the only weed-ridden plot, it just won't do... And also I've bought this plastic frame, about 3 feet high and 6 x 5 feet long that I can put over the seeds I want to sow so they don't wash away.

Ventnor, I think it's more in the area of 12,5 now... No idea what you're on about but I thought I'd pitch in all the same.

Right time for bed, sleep well everyone.. x

Morning all, it started off wet here (got soaked on the way back with Sasha) and the sun is out now, hopefully my car will get done today.

Your plastic frame sounds ok Eva, just make sure you peg it down well if there's any wind forecast just in case it decides to take offWink

Morning all, it's cleared up a little bit after another good soaking last night, could hardly see the road as I drove back from my parents. Just waiting to put another load of laundry in t he machine and then I'm off!

Morning Sue, yep, good advice! Smile The frame came with a couple of (flimsey) pegs, but I also have a heavy garden tile that I will rest on top of it, plus a couple of bricks I will place on the inside over the pegs. Hope you get your car fixed today! Gave mine a good clean yesterday and will give it the once over myself today as tomorrow it has to go for it's MOT.

So what with some hard work at the lotty, fixing the car and doing some more house- and paperwork and other odd jobs, I've got a busy day today!

What are you all up to?

Morning all.Hope everyone is well, or getting better!

Well, we had another good soaking yesterday but today looks set to be fine. We are off up the garden for a potter. Might take the bbq with us and cook something there.

Thanks, Eva. Not sure if my leg is any better or not, to be honest! It's annoying, that's for sure.

Good luck with checking your car over Eva, and hope it passes it's MOT tomorrow.  OH has just started doing the service on my carSmile

Taking the bbq with you sounds like a good idea Miranda, hope your leg doesn't give you any gyp while you're working.

Wonder if Roundelder is feeling any better today?

Morning all. Lovely day for a BBQ Miranda it is really sunny here at the moment. Glad your OH can get on with the car Sue, and hope that yours will pass the MOT tomorrow Eva.

I am going out to collect some runner beans for dinner, then we have a busy day lugging furniture around Sad ready for the carpet to be fitted in the lounge tomorrrow.
