In 2008 I wrote to say that I had seen Hyacinth bulbs blooming outside in October.

Bogweevil replied & said Beware a severe Winter

Well 2009 was a lot colder than it had been with more snow than of latter years.

October 2009, the same hyacinths were in bloom.

    What happened, another severe winter.

I think I'm going to pull those hyacinth bulbs out, maybe it will change things!

I'm with Sue on this one foxglove: leave 'em in! I finally had snow for the first time in years and I loved every minute of it! Party!!!

And let's not forget that there are benefits that run into spring and summer: less mosquito's and ticks!
