Three trees in my garden have been flooded for two years by a broken water main (which is now fixed). Now their leaves are going brown and falling. One is a yew, another is a large birch and the other is a cypress of some sort. I'm not sure of the cause of the leaf drop, so I've attached a picture. Will they die? Is there anything I can do?

It would certainly appear that your trees roots have become waterlogged. I don't think any of these species like being so near wet conditions for so long. This is indicated by the yellowing leaves. It's a matter of waiting now to see if the tree is strong enough to oush out roots again.
If the tree are large and dangerous (if they fell) you might want to consider talking to your buildings insurer to see if they might be able to help with the cost of removal?
