Ouch, that's a lot of money!  Mindyou Pennels is very over-priced at the best of times.  A nice selection of plants etc, but far from cheap.  I've had a lot of plants die that i've brought from there so I don't really bother anymore.  In saying that though I can rarely resist popping in for a look.I found a nice little nursery in carlton-on-trent just off the A1 heading north.  it's an old walled kitchen garden whicha  couple have taken over.  They have basically been working on restoring it all for a number of years, they have photo'#s up of the before during and after, it's amazing the amount of work they ahve doen and the gardens are looking great!  They sell some lovely plants too, not large like Pennels but a nice little selection.  They also garuntee all plants...  if it dies they will give you another or your money back.  I've had no problems though with anything i've had from there.  Worth popping along for a look anyway.

That's £20 for the same. or, try Wilko's, they sell it cheaper too.  Haven't used it for a few years but it was just as good last time I did.

    Gardening Tip
When weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it. If it comes out of the ground easily, it was a valuable plant.

Hello Muck plugger, as you're in Grimsby there should be local agricultural supply shops where you could get what you need a lot cheaper than Pennells. When we were in NE Lincs, we used a very good shop in Scunthorpe, who would order in anything you needed at a reasonable price, and I wouldn't be surprised if there's one in Grimsby as well.
