Hi, Digger.  Sorry if I am tardy in replying and if I made the wrong impression with what my ex said, I was only playing up the 'rake' pun, especially as I've applied it more recently myself but comparing my garden with Hogarth's 'The Rake's Progress' ~ seeing my garden as taking all my money which will ultimately cause my bankruptcy! lol.

I am assuming you have not had any experience with Reiki?  Maybe it would help if you checked it out as the organisations will give a better definition than I do.  Try http://www.reiki-questions.com/plantreiki.htm  or  http://www.reikifed.co.uk/  for starters.  I just got the shock of my life!  I googled the words 'Reiki and plants' and this thread is on the first page!  I've never been on the first page of Google before!

I like to give the Reiki directly to the garden when I am out there.  As I mentioned, I sit on the wall and send the intention over the vegetable patch, being specific and careful with the intent so as not to include the weeds! lol.  My only regret with all of this is that when I did my first experiment (with courgettes) I did not keep a written or photographic diary of the results.  I'm afraid I was new to Reiki at the time and if I am completely honest I was more than a little skeptical.  This one 'experiment' converted me in less than a growing season.

If you are thinking about using crystals, then I would suggest you check it out beforehand.  Unlike Reiki which can do no harm not all crystals are safe in the hands of a novice, such as myself.  Lots of useful books on the subject, and I am just starting to scratch the surface on crystals myself.  I do know that they have to be cleansed before use to rid them of any previous energies, and all crystals have specific attributes, so you can't use any old crystal you happen to have handy.  Generally, though, you are quite safe with rose and clear quartz.

Hydropiper, don't worry, I respect your right to your skeptisim!  I'd have.been the same way once myself.

One is nearer God's heart in a garden than anywhere else on earth.

Each to his/her own. If you think it works then go for it. I'm not one to judge. Smile

Thanks Celtic Heart I shall do some reading and let you know the results, for now I'll leave the crystals in the box, i've no idea what sort they are anyway.
