Vision of hell is a tad strong - Hampton Court Palace Flower Show is delightful - pleasant settings and plenty of space. You can retreat into the palace gardens if it all gets to much and you need a break. Consider the afternoon - most push off by 6.00 and the show goes on until 7.30 so you have at least an hour with fewer visitors. If you leave the show after 7.30 you will miss the worst of the travel. Boggy
The flower shows at RHS halls in Greycoat street are probably the best as not too big, not too busy and a lovely mix of displays, plants to buy and knick knacks. And free of course to RHS members.
Still havent decided what to wear for Chelsea...weather is sooo unpredictable!

I was lucky enough to be there yesterday and even the fashionistas were wearing sensible footwear.Take a small umbrella as you can always get undercover on a stall or in the Grand Pavillion if it rains a lot. It was very windy - so nothing too swirly unless you want the world to see your underwear! There are some fantastic displays and I found a lovely new rose on the Harkness stand in the grand pavillion Equity - pink and very sweetly scented and I also loved the very creative vegetable displays from Jersey and the NFU. Enjoy.
The ECCENTRIC clothes worked! I was chased by a photographer who photographed me. Felt like a celeb for 5 minutes!
Enjoyed the flower show too!
That must have been strange. What did you wear?
Speaking of eccentric - what was your favourite garden? I really liked the concept quilted velvet and thought it worth a higher medal, but I loved the perfume garden also.
I wore white flower print tights over black tights and hotpants with an animal print scarf
My fave garden was the one with the blocks and the cushions. How weird is that, imagine if you fell off a block, broke your ankle and you were stuck between the blocks for days and no one could see you from the house.
Not surprised you got chased, Lennie!
Arg, what a thought about falling in that garden, that's going to give me bad dreams. Which garden was it?
The quilted garden I think it was called.
I am in Marie Claire fashion week wearing my floral tights.

Well done Lennie for being in the magazine, you wore a grand outfit my friend
Wow, Chelsea chic!! That's creative, Lennie, and I think it fits the bill for eccentric!! No pink hair, though?? I bet you would get in a yellow-dyed rabbit fur jumpsuit on a dare (I saw one once and wn't forget it!!)
I think a brown and white checkered shirt with a yellow bow tie (looking like you came out of the garden long enough to spritz up for the show) is eccentric for men, and a Daisy Duke number for women. No, I didn't go but wish I could have and hope to one day!!
A grand outfit, indeed! Makes me feel like a right scruff!
Thank you kind sirs and madams for the outfit comments
Next year I may take up the suggestions of a wacky yellow costume...maybe even a banana or daffodil? My hair is pink, but only on one side, which isnt shown in photo.
The pearly kings and queens at Chelsea had the coolest outfits though. I once had the pleasure of sharing a train journey with a king and queen once. Lovely people.
