    Hi,

I sourced my compost from three different locations this year, and after two weeks a lot of my seedlings are growing mushrooms in with them.  I do believe this is due to the compost and maybe lack of fresh air (trying to keep chilli's at a constant temp) which I will now recitify (and be more carefull with compost from now on!).

My question is, if I remove the mushrooms are the seedlings still viable?  They look OK, but I don't know what effect fungus will have on them long term.

    Thanks for reading,

    Jen

Toadstools usually crop up where potting media contain wood fibre or other woody wastes.  They are nothing to get anxious about - just discard the toadstools.  The fungus is only breaking down the woodfibre.  Toadstools are sign that there is less or even no peat in the potting media which is generally a good thing.

Can this be a sign of overwatering?
