Gardening is spiritual.  It gets me out of myself.  I've been doing this for a living for 19 years and I never get bored.  Everything about nature wows me....the flowers, trees, critters, bugs.....all of it.  It's pretty cool to get paid (not well) for a hobby.

hum, I guess in this case - spiritual means something that makes you feel great/warm/in touch/happy - but I don't wish to speak for TFC

Suzie's definition works for me. There's more to gardening than an end product - buying a pound of tomatoes or bunch of flowers isn't nearly as satisfying as growing them from seed.

Whether you think you can do a thing, or think you cannot, you are right.

Keeps me in touch with God as I understand Him.  And when a person gardens, they see how everything is connected to the world around us.  Chief Seatle said, "We are all a part of the web of life, whatever we do to the web, we do to ourselves.'  I just simply love gardening and everything it entails.  In the summertime I get to work before the sun comes up.  The birds start the morning chorus about 430 am.  No one except the security guard is on duty and  it's very peaceful.  In Oklahoma, we have an awesome sunrise due to all the dust and pollen in the air (double edged sword).  It's all fantastic.

Well flowerchick, It's certainly one way to look at things, I do envy your sunrise in Oklahoma is it very warm there in the Summertime? In summer if it's a nice day I like being in the garden very early and drinking my coffee out there, I like being out in the garden with Sally my assistance dog and i like my clematis when they are in flower, but it's just something i enjoy, it doesn't have any hidden meaning or anything spooky.
