Thanks Anemone
Don't the pictures usually have the name and .jpg?
The name on the other post was my embarrassing mistake.
It's actually Walberton from the site http://www.walberton-nursery.co.uk/

Don't the pictures usually have the name and .jpg? Not in my experience poppikin.
Sorry about the reference to your mistake - clearly I haven't been paying quite enough attention.

Hello Anemone
Not at all. It doesn't matter at all about me. I was just a bit worried that I may have embarrassed Mrs Crocosmia the other day.
The good thing on here is that we can learn so much from each other.
Thanks again for help with pics.

Hello Anemone
Another question! What do the 5 stars mean at the top of this thread and how do they get put there?

The five stars are a rating poppikin - you can rate any of the threads you wish to by clicking on the box where the stars are.

Hello Anenome
There are two more questions about pictures I'd be grateful for your help.
When I was trying to get the caption on I put the picture on twice and then I could not see how to delete one so how do you delete a picture once it is on the post? (In the end I "Cut" it so it may be still floating around somewhere).
Secondly, if you have to use photobucket and the like what is the little tree like symbol labelled insert/edit image for in the Reply and Edit screens?

Do you know, your question prompted me to try something and I've discovered a new way of adding a pic from a web page. Others might already have known about this but it's new to me.
Ok - it works like this. Go to the web page where you want to ust the picture from. Right click on the picture and select properties. About half way down there is a line for Address(URL) - highlight this and copy. Next go to the reply bit on the forum post - click the tree and a window will open. Paste the Address for the pic into the Image Url box, add description and insert. Here's one 've copied from the RHS homepage - I'm sure they won't mind me borrowing it to domonstrate.

How exciting.

Thanks for that. Does that advice apply if my image is deposited in my own webspace?

I have attempted, very unsuccessfully, to load a photo from Photobucket in the Cyclamen thread this evening. I am not new to this having some near-on 3000 pictures on Photobucket put on various forums. I had a message saying that Admin had to approve it ... even my message has not been put up .....And why do I not see other photos that have been posted , including mine from years ago ...
