We are growing red and white cabbage for the first time this year and they seem to be growing lovely, upwards! Two of the larger plants are now probably 18" high. No sign of the lovely round ball of a cabbage in sight. They look more like brussel sprouts at the moment. Can anyone guide me on the way to a lovely normal looking cabbage?
Thanks in advance.

They can look a bit tall and thin if you have raised rather 'drawn' plants, perhaps due to over-crowding in the seedling stage or planting too close.
They usually come right if you have not drawn them up too much, otherwise buy new plants and start again.

Thanks for that, I'll probably start again then. The cabbages did get a bit high in the seedling stage, but have plenty of space. I should still be able to use the leaves it has produced for something.
Thanks for your reply.
