Peat free composts have had a bad press, has anyone used Coir as a substitute for peat, and what were the results?

Superb, especially for propagation - what bad press do you refer to?

My dear Bog Weevil, thanks for the good news about coir. Gardening Which gave peat free a bad name also, refer to General Gardening Forum on the website with a query from "Stevew" about the poor quality of peat free.
