Perhaps the RHS can let us all know when a particular event is upcoming and they want a name for it,to publicise the event.

Hi Arabella As digger warns i think the RHS should tread carefully in pursuit of a 'sexed up' image. But the point you make is valid - we need to talk about our work in a compelling way, and on reflection i'm sure contributors to this string can come up with more compelling titles than 'Winter Wonders.....' You're right Digger 'sexing up' is a ghastly phrase however it is in popular usage.

I totally agree about not having gardens that end up like theme parks.

I guess I meant that the RHS could sometimes convey a more dynamic and image.

The RHS has to be careful, I agree the society has to move with the times ,but "sexing up" sounds dodgy to me, we don't want the society to end up having gardens that are run like a Walt Disney theme park,

An attention grabbinig subject title if ever there was one and also happens to be the title of an exhibition held in the Pyramid Glasshouse at Sydney Botanic Gardens. How could you not want to vist that even when you find out it is all to do with orchids?

By contrast the RHS sent out an email from entitled "Winter Wonder at the RHS Gardens". Totally unimaginative!!!!

Isn't it about time that the RHS 'sexed up' its image a bit more and conveyed the excitment of gardens and gardening to a wider audience?
