I saw this beautiful flower (small shrub) growing in the garden of a hotel in Kingston, Jamaica during a recent business trip. Can anyone help identify it?

Any idea what this is? I thought it could be Coreopsis or Heterotheca but the leaves are different.

Variegated conifer

Is this a Lawson/Leyland Cypress cultivar? Apologies for the poor photos. The variegation is a creamy white rather than yellow. Any ideas gratefully accepted.

Conifer ID with Photo

Hi need help identifying the 'Conifer' in the picture please.

I plan to plant these 50cm away from a low garden perimeter wall and wanted to know what type of root system it has and are they likely to affect the wall at some point in the future i.e make the wall crack.

Do these conifers have large roots that could damage a wall 50cm away?

Any ideas? It's a friend's tree. The fruit contains a single stone, like a tiny plum.

Mystery Shrub

This is a shrub which has been found in 2 places, both are in an otherwise native hedge. One example is in Rutland and the other is in Dorset. It has arching stems and the leaves are alternate. It also has rather large spines.

This already has quite a few of us stumped and we would all be really grateful if anyone has any ideas please!

New Garden - Plant Identification

I have some more plant to ID. Some of them are probably very common so I'm a little embarassed, but I cannot find out what they are:

1. Succulent leaves. It flowered a few years ago (6years!) with small white flowers and has not flowered since

It is really looking lovely at the moment.

On the new RHS web page for plants there is a heading on the left which says Plant of The Month. Two pictures below it show a ?Dahlia on the right; What is the plant shown on the left???? Pink/green/cream leaves.

What is this five foot yellow daisy?

I recently moved house and am still "finding" new plants.

Most I can find in various text books but I can't find this one!

Can anyone identify this .....

It is about five to six feet high and is growing strongly in West Sussex. It has a herbacious habit.

It flowered from mid September and is still in flower now.

The roots are fairly thick (about 6mm) and are white and fleshy, they are in a considerable clump (they need to be - this is a big plant)

So what is it?

Dear All,

I have just worked out how to paste a picture into a new post - can anyone help identify this plant - I have drawn a blank so far?

The fruits are about the size of a small blackberry and very regular in their arrangement. I'm not sure what the flowers were like. The plant was about a metre high with arching stems and gorgeous cerise pedicels.

Mystery Egyptian bean

Any ideas about this bean pod my husband brough back from Egypt after his National Service. It is about 14 inches long and almost 3 inches wide in the middle. It rattles when you shak it and is well dessicated!

Hi - can anyone ID this shrub(?). It's in a friend's garden who said it was a viburnum which they were sure shouldn't be trained against a fence --- but that completely threw me as I'm sure it's not a virburnum at all!!! Apologies for the poor photo --- it's the plant 'climbing' along the fence. Many thanks everyone

Hi everyone!

I recently acquired this plant. The lady I spoke with about it told me it was a "sword plant" and the tab stuck in the plant said it, too (but I think she wrote it). I was all excited about getting a new plant, went home and right away began researching 'sword plant'. Lo and behold it is anything but a sword plant as sword plants are aquatic and looking definitely not like what I have.

It has long-ish variegated, serrated leaves and a thick-ish, rough trunk/stem.

From what I've found online, it could be a Yucca of some variety. I am under the impression the serrated leaves rules out Dracaena, and it's definitely not a fern.

There is currently one stem, which veers off to the side and curves down then up again.

Any help is greatly appreciated--from my own research I'm leaning towards Yucca, although this must be a young plant if it is Yucca (?) because the trunk/stem is not fat, as I've seen in most photos. Also, the leaves are not seemingly strong enough to stay perky.
