digging about for tubers as soon as these fade if you want small new

the heavier the crop.

Re: potato mix up?

Good evening all,
I am new to potato growing and wondered if you could help with this question.
I planted up two tubs with 4 potatoes in each about 6 weeks ago that started to sprout. I don't know what the names were but I bought them from Asda -just ordinary ones that you buy in a bag.
They seem to be coming on well and the leaves are now taller than the tubs. I have been adding compost (also Asda bought) as the plants have been growing and also adding plenty of water.
I wondered how long I need to wait before they will be ready for eating, someone told me to wait until the leaves have turned yellow, but don't know when that will be (weeks, months?) Thanks in anticipation for any help. Have a feel about under the plants - the Anya are pinkish, a bit knobbly and long rather than round. Not sure what Mayan Gold look like, but maybe you can find a picture online.

potato mix up?

Hello,

I planted two types of potatoes this year (both in containers and the ground), anya and mayan gold, but I stupidly didn't label them. I did the usual 'I'll remeber' thing but now I'm not sure. One lot have been flowering for a couple of weeks. The container grown ones were planted good friday (the ground ones a few weeks later) so I was thinking the anya might be ready soonish?

Any idea which one might be which?

Thanks
