It has answered my query nicely as my OH and I have almost the same problems 1. bit late finishing my pride and joy greenhouse 2. my OH not reading lables properly in her excitement and 3. me remembering my father growing them. Our only difference is that my OH has grown them from seed and didn't even realise there was a problem until the tendrils started reaching for my tomato plants. I think I now vaguely recall my old man tying twine up in the GH for the cucumbers to climb up! Anyway, I hope it is not too late but I am putting some of the surplus plants outside and can you tell me what if any support you would use for them?

Cheers

Rounder

Re: Ridge Cucumbers

Well, if it a family tradition it would be impious to deny your wife' s heritage. No reason to remove male flowers from ridge cucs and in fact doing so would lead to no crop.

I presume I need to remove the male flowers to stop them from going bitter ?
