I think I remember this thread & Lowiepete did post again but he must have expressed his opinion rather too bluntly as the message got swiftly modded by the forum organisers. As you say Spade -monkey 'not that it matters'. Perhaps we might drift slowly down memory lane now we are all doomed to be permanently modded. May be we should start a memories thread! .... Best K

Wow - I just saw this thread and the first replies... probably just as well the place is closing down if that is the way things were heading.

I managed to get some formatting to work by switching browser - but even that doesn't work properly - these are probably bugs from when it was first developed - No idea why they decided to develop inhouse when there is plenty of forum software out there already. Still, doesn't much matter now... but I see why the thread starter only posted here twice.

Following my previous post about being able to paragraph with out a problem, I've switched from IE to Google Chrome and guess what - no paragraphs. Still, they say retribution is swift and sure (or something like that).

New member here, had a few problems getting around at first in particular some help files but now I have found most of the help I need. But no matter how hard the forum may appear it has too many valuable members to just not to bother any more.

Roger...My point earlier was that I too had no problem at all with paragraphs in "Reply" or "Quick reply"... UNTIL I had to use my OH's Apple Mac.( Please read my earlier posts.)

Then I could not get spaces for love nor money... no matter how hard I tried!

All back to normal as soon as I got my computer back.

I was pleading for folk here to show others who have the same problem a little more tolerance and understanding.

With computers /programs things can change!

Both the 'Reply' and 'Quick Reply' work for me when I type into them directly.

I must agree though on the points raised regarding the posting of photos - most frustrating!

See...Computers are ok when they are working. Catastrophic when they crash. Plant problems are so much easier to cope with! Best. K

Computer now fixed.

Just testing for spaces and paragraphs!

Just a minor issue... I now have a new hard drive.

I have lost everything.

Got to start from scratch again... with adding all e mail addresses. etc etc.

But at least my posts here are back to normal. Hurray!

I thought this starter topic sounded familiar. I have no particular issue with the formatting of messages but would like to add my plea for an easy way to add pictures. I do suspect, Silver Surfer that as you describe above, a Mac doesn't help here though they are very clever things in all sorts of ways. Best K.

I was about to write a very unfavourable reply to some of the comments! However after reading Silversurfers response (a very, very valid member of this community) I have to say that perhaps this whole issue needs to be rectified/responded to, by a member of the RHS team? I personally have had no problems, but that is not to say that others on different systems do need some help? God knows, I'm a total dunce on all things 'techy' but perhaps these issues do need looking into, by the clever people that look after the site? Thanking you in advance, and apologies if I've missed something easy that I shouldn't have

I find that if you use Firefox instead of Internet Explorer;

Then you can use paragraphs OK ..hope this helps.

I agree though that to be able to just copy and paste in an image would be a useful addition to the site.

LowiePete. I read this a while back and was puzzled as I had never had problems with gaps and paragraphs.....until now. My computer went in for an MOT and failed. So I am now borrowing my other half's lap top...which happens to be an AppleMac. Now everything is as you describe... everything just moves together to form an unreadable mass of words... which I really detest. I find it extremely difficult to read. In addition when I add links to other sites they appear, but cannot be used unless they are copied and pasted. This is the only forum that is doing this. All the others work as normal. Therefore I wonder if it is cos I am on this Apple Mac plus the RHS weird site that is doing this. So please everyone be kind and understanding to LoweiePete. I can vouch for identical trouble. P.S. This was typed with many gaps and paragraphs!
