A neighbour has just shown me some seed heads he has been given... some were easy to identify but one had not been given a name by the donor. It looks like a cape gooseberry with a crisp outer to a berry but apparently the flowers were blue and I can't find any reference to a blue physalis. Are there any other flowers with a similar type of seed head?

Hi Anthemis, it sounds like the shoo-fly plant, Nicandra physaloides. It's reputed to keep white fly away but I don't know if it does.
